Few people go through their life without the need for dental fillings or restorative dental care. Obviously preventative dentistry plays a key role in preventing restorative care, but tooth damage can still occur. Restorative procedures such as dental fillings and crowns serve to strengthen a compromised tooth as a result of cavities (tooth decay), fracture, cracking or infection.
Dental decay and other issues are discovered as a result of visual and radiographic inspection by Dr. Bogan. Early detection is the key to saving as much of the tooth as possible. Once a cavity has been identified, we provide an assessment and explain the restorative process required to repair the tooth, and answer all your questions. If you decide to proceed with treatment, we will schedule a follow up visit at our Boulder Dentist Office.
During your treatment visit, we review the procedure and then administer a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort. We will take measures to assure comfort with music, nitrous oxide and sedative measures as necessary. Treatments may be single visit or multiple depending on the procedure. A variety of ADA approved dental restorative materials are available to meet your individual dental filling needs including tooth colored composite, porcelain as well as durable conventional gold and other metallic restorations. Please call Thomas Bogand DDS at our Boulder Dental Office if you have any questions.
